Rancid Oppression: News

Welcome to the homepage of EU PS3 gaming clan, Rancid Oppression. Founded on March 27th 2007, by xClampy and Tom1525, the clan was established on the release of the PS3. We built RO with fun in mind, with the ambition to make a fun environment for fellow gamers, wishing to play in clan wars, but didnt want to have the responsibilities of training and not forcing people to play in order to get a game.

We competed on Resistance : Fall of Man, on the Consolegaming.eu clan ladder, against very successful EU clans, such as Bitta Somethin' Extra, Bloodpack and Dead on Arrival. We made it into the top 20, and made many friends along the way. In the process of competing, we also established the reputation of being fearless, and laying anyone who wanted a game, regardless of the outcome. We didnt moan, or care about defeat, we just wanted to play as a team against the best the EU had to offer.

We had so much fun, that we moved onto Rainbow 6: Vegas, and competed on that ladder, against the likes of The Demolition Squad, Roughnex, and Kounter Tactics Squad. We did pretty well in the ladder finishing on a similar position. Once people got bored of RB6, we moved to COD4, and we entered the ladder on that game, playing very good teams, including Raising the Stakes and Xray-8. We have enjoyed our time so much, that when we as a clan moved to the hugely anticipated Killzone 2, we thoroughly believed we would love it, and we were greatly mistaken.

Members lost interest, and people became inactive letting us down for matches they said they would attend, and to top it all off, I had to move to work as the local company collapsed and they moved me an hour up the road. After much discussion and with deep regret, Rancid Oppression was disbanded due to more important commitments.

Its been a year since that dreadful decision cost us a great group of players and some good friendships have been lost over it, but xClampy has re-committed himself to re-establishing a great clan, and has promised himself to become a much better organised team, that will be competitve, yet continue to play for the fun and the enjoyment of playing others.

We have only two requirements, you speak English and you own a microphone, so anyone can attempt to join the horde of RO.
